Alert! Your former boss -- Commander Zaslavsky -- has kidnapped your wife-to-be in an attempt to make you do his dirty work. Your mission is to defeat this sinister commander and rescue the love of your life. Your best mate, Anatoly, has agreed to help you on your mission. You may really need his help as the journey will be rife with many challenges and obstacles to overcome. Zaslavsky has many men under his command as well as many war machines at his disposal. You must navigate through his defenses to reach his command center that rests atop a snowy mountain – it is here in which your beloved one is being held hostage. In addition to overseeing a powerful army, Zaslavsky is rather manipulative, so you should be cautious if he tries to communicate with you on your radio. |

Technical Details
The ROM for this game was programmed at the assembly level -- it is not written in a high level language. It is 64k (32K program ROM and 32k character ROM) in ROM size, making it a rather small game. Its mirroring is horizontal as the game only scrolls vertically. In addition to this, the game uses a CNROM mapper (mapper 3). This a very simple mapper, making this game compatible with many different emulators and flash cartridges; that said, bank swapping is used heavily in this game. This is due to the fact that many data tables for objects and the environment are stored in character ROM, so be sure your emulator supports this. If your system is capable of running something like Milon's Secret Castle -- another CNROM game that uses bank swapping for data fetching -- then you should be able to run Copper Jacket.
